The Waiting Room

Friday, August 18, 2017

I didn’t know it then, but at the time of age 14/15 I was being connected with friends whose paths would intersect with mine as long as we would live.

Some people always seem to come back to each other. Whether their relationship is platonic, romantic, or otherwise, these people are connected to something greater than themselves. This keeps them connected to each other.

A tether connects us all. All of us who live on this planet together, at this moment in time, are connected.

When one of us rises, we all rise. When one of us falls, we all hold him up. Sometimes we lose somebody. Their rope was weakened; they hung by a thread in this life. To those people, we’ve said goodbye.

It is my sincere belief that the people who’ve left us earlier than we’d like float onwards and upwards sooner than we ever could. The cream rises to the top, and we who remain here after they pass on must make up for the loss by tethering ourselves even closer together. And, we must make room to create new bonds, new ties with people previously unseen in our immediate circle of connections.

Until we are ready for what’s next, until we are ready to crossover, we hold each other dearly. Blessed are we to be in this waiting room here, together.
